Board Game
Road to America
A board game to help immigrants pass the US Citizenship test.
This game was concepted as a result of having to take the test in 2018. I wanted to explore how to make an isolated experience something that can be shared with elders, citizens and family.

How to Play
Immigrants are questioned everyday for not being American enough, yet only 39% of American citizens can pass the US citizenship test.*

With 100 questions about legal rights to listing old wars to naming Cabinet positions, it is a difficult test.
Road to America is an unpredictable board game that makes studying for the test fun and something both immigrants and citizens can enjoy. Through gamification, topics like government, history, and civics can feel a lot less intimidating and much easier to apply in Americans' daily lives. In today's climate, this is important knowledge to have.
The Path
To mimic the winding road of finding your place in America, this game encourages an unpredictable path to winning. (or losing)
Wild Cards
To add more difficulty and variety, these special challenges can either hold a player back or get them ahead.
